EMT (Full Time)

About the Role

Medcor is looking to hire an EMT to be an Onsite Health Technician in an occupational health clinic setting in Buffalo, NY. This clinic operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The shifts are eight hours each for either first, second, or third shift on a full-time basis. This role pays $25/hr.

The position’s responsibilities include collaborative work with the medical and operational leadership at Medcor, local medical providers, client staff, and key contacts within the client’s corporate structure.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily operations at Medcor’s on-site clinic
• Provide superior customer service to Medcor’s client and employees
• Assessment and treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor’s Evidence Based Medicine protocols (Medcor Care Protocols - MCPs)
• Build and maintain internal team relationships
• Support for onsite employee health and wellness efforts
• Pre-employment and post-offer screenings
• Documentation of care using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools
• Physical Assessment Testing (PATs)
• Case Management
• Medical charting
• OSHA record-keeping
• Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel
• Monitor CCTV and all alarm systems
• Provide visitor passes and enforce visitor and access control procedures
• Ongoing workers’ compensation case management
• Return to Work (RTW) program facilitation
• Treatment plan monitoring
• Work closely with outside medical providers
• Support the site security team functions and activities

Requirements

• Valid licensure for the position (EMT)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong computer and technology skills (navigate cell phones, texting, fax machines, etc.)
• Familiarity with EMR software
• Ability to lift a 50lb emergency response bag
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Positive and outgoing personality

• Willingness to go above and beyond

Preferred Qualifications

• Comfortable working in a worksite clinic industrial environment
• Relevant occupational health experience
• Experience in emergency medicine or critical care
