How You’ll Help
The Emergency Medical Technician administers basic life support care and transport to patients in pre-hospital settings as authorized and directed by physician. Performs a variety of skills related to acute and non-acute settings in ground transport. Responds to medical emergencies in a 911 setting and protects life and administers cardiac and trauma support when needed. Administers initial treatment at emergency scene, assesses patient response and makes adjustments as needed. Gathers and analyzes information and uses reason when dealing with emotional topics. Manages difficult customer situations and maintains confidentiality.
What We Require
- Education: High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Must be certified as an Emergency Medical Technician in the State of Virginia. AHA BLS - HCP required. HAZMAT Awareness and PHTLS or BTLS Basic required within one year of hire date.
- Experience: N/A
- Minimum Qualifications: All of our driving positions do require that you provide a copy of your current driving record and meet eligibility requirements. Must maintain continuing education hours to meet re-certification status as required by State (National) standards.
Compensation
Earnings range from $20.10 to $28.14 per hour, based on a variety of factors including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
