EMT Basic - Located in Pierre, SD

About the role

Located in Pierre, SD. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for medical assistance and deliver high-quality care, treatment and customer service to patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, determine necessary care and deliver emergency services using appropriate medical techniques and equipment.
• Document patient information, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
• Maintain a safe, clean and well‑stocked environment for patients.
• Apply EMT skills including communications, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, office equipment and tools to provide care.
• Operate an ambulance in accordance with company safety policies and traffic laws governing emergency medical response vehicles.
• Work collaboratively and professionally with allied health and public safety personnel as well as fellow EMTs.
• Participate in community programs to uphold AMR’s image and build strong community relations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• State EMT License
• State Driver’s License
• BLS and NREMT certification
• Driving record compliant with company policy
• Pass Physical Agility Test
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare

Qualifications

• Related experience in healthcare (preferred)
