EMT Basic

Responsibilities

• Affirms patients, determines necessary care, and delivers emergency services using appropriate medical techniques, equipment and EMT scope of practice.
• Documents patient details, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
• Uses appropriate EMT skills, such as bleeding control, oxygen administration and shock management.
• Operates an ambulance according to applicable company safety policies and traffic laws related to the operation of emergency medical response vehicles.
• Collaborates and works professionally with all allied health and public safety personnel, as well as fellow prehospital providers.

Other Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains strong community relations through community programs.

Qualifications

Must have a valid New York State EMT license.

Starting rate: $18.10 and up, based on experience.
