About the Role
As an EMT at Main Line Health, you will be a leader and integral component of the pre-hospital care provider team, delivering basic life support and facilitating advanced life support to individuals in need during sudden illness or injury. This fast-paced role involves providing emergent care in a pre-hospital setting while maintaining treatment standards and protocols. You’ll use quick thinking and teamwork to ensure the best possible patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic and advanced life support in pre-hospital settings.
- Maintain and adhere to treatment standards and protocols.
- Assess and manage care for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
- Operate basic and advanced medical equipment.
- Knowledge of medications carried by EMT-Paramedics for patient treatment and management.
- Perform resuscitation procedures consistent with training and certification.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Current Pennsylvania certification as an EMT or NREMT.
- Current driver’s license valid in Pennsylvania (copy on file).
- Current BCLS certification.
- Hazmat Awareness and EMSVO certifications required.
- Satisfactory completion of practical and written examinations administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of pre-hospital basic life support experience.
- Additional certifications encouraged, such as NREMT, PHTLS, BTLS, Fire I, or equivalent.
