Pay Range: $24.13 - $26.68 per hour

About the role

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will provide Basic Life Support (BLS) services to patients. Opportunities to advance from BLS to ALS with our Training Center, free CEUs, and ABC cores for recertification are available. Part-time employees working 24 hours a week receive full benefits. Responsibilities

• Conducts self in a professional, dignified, and compassionate manner at all times.
• Communicates clearly, effectively, professionally, and in the English language via written and verbal means.
• Notifies Supervisor of any deficiencies regarding maintenance, equipment, or supplies, and of any unusual circumstances immediately.
• Provides treatment in accordance with established patient care protocols.
• Operates department vehicles in accordance with all applicable NJ Motor Vehicle Laws and Mobile Health (MH) driving-related policies.
• Completes department-specific continuing education programs in addition to those required by the State of New Jersey Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services.
• Completes all patient care documentation in accordance with the MH Documentation Procedure.
• Interacts professionally with partners, patients, management, colleagues from other EMS agencies, public safety personnel, and other healthcare providers and members of the public.
• Performs routine duties to ensure safety and facilitate patient care, including but not limited to:
  • Completing vehicle inspection forms and vehicle maintenance requests.
  • Submitting copies of required certifications prior to their due date.
  • Remaining compliant with hospital Employee Health requirements such as TB testing and N95 fit testing.
  • Completing hospital-required processes such as annual employee self-evaluations and employee engagement surveys in a timely manner.
• Performs other duties as required or requested by MH management, necessary to the function of the organization.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School Graduate or GED.
• Current Driver’s License and must satisfy the current vehicle insurance company’s requirements.
• New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or National Registry EMT Certification.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider (CPR).
• Hazmat Awareness Certification.
• Must possess ICS 100, 200, and NIMS 700, 800.
• Must have completed Weapons of Mass Destruction or CBRNE Awareness training.

Preferred Qualifications

• PHTLS/ITLS certification.
• Associate Degree.

Schedule

• Per Diem:
  • Must provide 10 shifts of availability and work 6 shifts over 3 months.
  • Must work 1 summer and 1 winter holiday along with 2 weekend shifts.
  • All minimum shifts must be within the region the applicant is hired.
  • Tied only to their home region; may choose dayshift, nightshift, and preferred Station/Unit.
  • Must maintain minimum required shifts.
• Part Time:
  • Assigned two regularly scheduled shifts per week, totaling 4 shifts over 2 weeks.
  • At least 2 of the 4 shifts must be on a weekend, in the region they are hired into.
  • Must work 24 hours per week.
• Full Time:
  • Assigned 3 shifts a week, with weekend requirements, in the region they are hired into.
  • Rotating Pitman schedule.
  • Must work 36 hours per week.
