About the role
This recruitment is for an hourly position responsible for assisting students in EMS programs with the performance of laboratory skill stations and demonstration of skill competency as required by the Washington Department of Health, accreditation, and the National Registry of EMT’s. Reports to EMS Program Director.
Responsibilities
- Set up and breakdown lab skill stations.
- Aid in keeping track of and maintaining lab equipment.
- Aid program faculty with student skill competency demonstration, assist faculty during instruction, and assist faculty with evaluation of student skill performance.
- Perform reality-based scenarios for EMS students through simulation and patient care scenarios similar to what students will encounter in their careers as EMS providers.
- Provide critical, real-time feedback to students and EMS Program Evaluators regarding their State/national-mandated skills performance.
- May tutor or mentor students to develop competencies and enhance skill performance.
- Assist students as they develop in competencies in WA DOH health and accreditation-required skills.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by program faculty.
Qualifications
- WA State or NREMT certification in EMS.
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Successfully complete a criminal background check.
Conditions of Employment
- The finalist for this position will be subject to a criminal background check prior to the start of employment.
