About the role
Rappahannock Community College (RCC) seeks EMS Instructional Assistants for all certification levels. The position serves as a supplemental instructor in the classroom and lab setting, coordinating with instructors and EMS Program Heads for practical skills delivery and evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with instructors and EMS Program Heads for practical skills delivery and evaluation
- Absorb and assist with setup and breakdown of equipment and supplies
- Evaluate and document student performance on practical skills covered in lessons
Requirements
- EMT Instructional Assistant: Virginia and/or National Registry Advanced Emergency Medical Technician designation or higher with an unencumbered license to practice in Virginia, and significant experience as a provider in a high call volume agency or equivalent experience.
- AEMT/Paramedic Instructional Assistant: Virginia and/or National Registry Paramedic designation with an unencumbered license to practice in Virginia, American Heart Association CPR for Health Care Providers certification, and significant experience as an ALS provider in a high call volume agency or the equivalent experience in other agencies.
Qualifications
- Educational requirements: Associate or bachelor’s degree in EMS or related field, VEMSES and/or NEMSES instructor designation, and experience teaching in EMS programs.
- Experience: Teaching experience in EMS programs and/or community college level, demonstrated competency in BLS and/or ALS knowledge, psychomotor skills, and affective domain evaluation.

- Ability to operate State Vehicle

Pay
EMT: $30/hr. AEMT, EMT-Intermediate & Paramedic: $32/hr.
Schedule
Varying schedules are available to accommodate faculty’s schedule.
