Employment Support Professional
About the role
We are hiring an Employment Support Professional to support adults and high school students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to attain or maintain employment. You will help place people in jobs that match their skills and provide support at each step along their career paths. This community-based, hybrid-remote role is ideal for those looking to enter or grow within the Social Services or Human Services field.
As an employment support professional, you will meet with clients in their homes and places of work, perform outreach, and advocate throughout your community.
Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding support to clients facing complex barriers and requiring specialized support to secure employment
- Empower people with disabilities to reach their full potential
- Build skills and confidence of clients to find employment through resume creation, interview preparation, on-site job training, benefits planning, person-centered planning, and assessments services
- Collaborate with agency partners and represent Northwest Center at outreach events to showcase our process for supporting clients seeking job opportunities
- Independently manage your schedule to ensure each student receives appropriate service time
- Build relationships with local companies to create job opportunities
- Provide a multitude of other industry-specific and student-focused support services
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience working in a disability-focused human services field with hands-on experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Valid Driver’s license and personal mode of transportation
- A flexible schedule to support clients when they work, which may include occasional weekends and holidays
Pay
Employment Specialist (Entry level): Starting wage range $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
Employment Consultant (Mid to experienced): Starting wage range $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
$1,500 hiring bonus: $500 paid after 30 days, remaining $1,000 paid after 90 days of employment
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm (Occasional nights and weekends as needed)
