Duties
- Identify employment opportunities with the people supported based on individualized assessment information.
- Conducts individualized job development by speaking with employers in the community about the person's abilities and desires to obtain employment.
- Aid participants in preparing for interviews, completing job applications, and developing job-related skills.
- Develop positive relationships with businesses, community agencies, other departments, and outside vendors.
- Conduct assessments to identify accommodations for each person.
- Provide discovery, job development, follow along support and ongoing job supports to the people supported at their places of employment, including job coaching and advocacy as needed.
- Provide transportation to and from places of employment, as needed.
- Complete accurate and timely daily documentation of all employment services.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Full drivers license with a clean driving record with 2 years driving experience.
- Experience working with disabled adults preferred.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the participants and demands of the job.
Requirements
- Successful completion of Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) within 6 months of hire.
- Successful completion of the Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) certification within 12 months of hire.
