Employment Specialist - QMHP

Job Summary

Employment Specialist provides employment skills training to individuals diagnosed with severe mental illnesses who may also have co-occurring substance use disorders and/or chronic health conditions, utilizing a recovery based and trauma-informed perspective. Services are typically provided in the community and require the use of a personal automobile and cell phone.

About the Role

Employment Specialists operate in a dynamic environment, develop extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and cultivate a clinical skill-set by forging therapeutic relationships with diverse community members. Services are typically provided in the community and require the use of a personal automobile and cell phone. Employment Specialists work in partnership with racially and culturally diverse individuals to define and facilitate their desired life/employment outcomes. Employment Specialists participate in diagnostic evaluations and provide assessment of strengths, preferences, functional impairments, and symptoms of psychiatric and/or co-occurring disorder(s) at regular intervals to ensure optimal and personalized services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic interventions fostering skills necessary to manage symptoms, obtain/maintain employment or housing, or to obtain services such as school, medical care, nutritional assistance, financial assistance, transportation, legal assistance, and resources fulfilling any basic need.
• Facilitate employment skills training groups and/or utilize other evidenced-based interventions or therapeutic modalities.
• Participate in diagnostic evaluations and provide assessment of strengths, preferences, functional impairments, and symptoms of psychiatric and/or co-occurring disorder(s) at regular intervals to ensure optimal and personalized services.
• Frequent service coordination with external and internal providers is necessary to support individuals in achieving independent functioning.
• May provide all or some of the above services.
• On-call responsibilities may be required dependent upon unit protocols.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).

Pay

$24.18 - $25.39 an hour based on education.

Schedule

Full-Time. Workdays: Monday - Friday. Workhours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM.
