EMPLOYMENT PATHWAYS
About the Program
Our employment pathways program provides real, paid work experience in a supportive and inclusive environment with two hands-on routes to choose from. Participants build practical skills, confidence, and the experience needed to move into meaningful employment through an immersive, hands-on approach.
Delivered at Burwood Brickworks Rooftop Farm and surrounding productive gardens, this 10-15 week program provides participants with a foundational understanding of working in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment, with a focus on real-world experience and skill development.
Who It Supports
The program is designed to support people who may face barriers to employment, including deaf and hard of hearing individuals, young people from LGBTQIA+, refugee, and migrant backgrounds. We create environments where everyone feels supported to learn, contribute, and grow.
Outcomes
Participants leave the program with more than just experience. They gain confidence, practical skills, and a clearer pathway into employment, supported by real-world learning in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Funding and Acknowledgement
Our funding for Community Gardens Support on Public Housing Estates comes from the Victorian State Government via Homes Victoria and DFFH.
Cultivating Community respectfully acknowledges the peoples of the Kulin Nations, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we garden, cook, and work. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture, and rich agricultural practices. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging, and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
