Employment Litigation Associate

Position Summary

Our Portland, ME office has an opportunity for an Employment Litigation Associate to join the firm’s dynamic and long-established practice representing premier local and national employers. This is an excellent opportunity for associates to provide legal service within a sophisticated practice and who are seeking to assume a significant role in all aspects of labor and employment law. This role requires extensive contact with clients, governmental agencies and opposing counsel.

Duties

• Performing legal research
• Drafting of legal memoranda, motions, and pleadings
• Attending court conferences
• Handling discovery-related activities and investigations
• Drafting of position statements and dispositive motions
• Counseling clients on employment-law-related matters

Requirements

• Juris Doctor
• Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in Maine
• Must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice
• Massachusetts and/or New Hampshire license preferred, not required
• Candidates must possess at least 3+ years of litigation experience
• Employment litigation experience is preferred
• Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills are required
