About the role
This attorney will serve as a primary employment law advisor for key U.S. client groups, including the North America Supply Chain function, while also supporting U.S. labor law matters and employment litigation management.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary legal advisor on employment law matters for aligned client groups, providing practical counsel with limited direction.
- Act as a key legal partner on U.S. labor law matters, including support for the Labor Relations Director.
- Manage employment litigation and dispute resolution for aligned client groups.
- Support and advise internal centers of excellence such as contingent worker management team, leave and time off team, policy and compliance teams, talent acquisition and compensation.
- Partner with HR Compliance to manage changing compliance requirements across North America.
- Develop and implement training for employees across the enterprise on critical workplace topics, including harassment prevention.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- 5+ years of experience practicing employment and/or labor law, including litigation and counseling experience.
- Admitted to practice law in Minnesota, or willing to gain admission in Minnesota.
- Strong judgment, strategic and analytical thinking, and business acumen, with the ability to prioritize and work autonomously across multiple matters.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong learning agility and a growth-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Labor law experience.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems, e-discovery management, and collective actions.
- Experience advising business clients in operational environments such as supply chain or manufacturing.
