Employment: High School Counselor, Shelby Public Schools

Shelby Public Schools is accepting applications for a high school counselor at Shelby High School. Applicants must have a master’s degree in guidance and counseling and hold the appropriate certification. At least three years of teaching and/or counseling experience in a secondary school is preferred. Candidates should possess excellent communication, organizational and teamwork skills. The counselor will work with students on academic planning, graduation requirements, career exploration and college preparation. Responsibilities include individual and group counseling, coordinating student assessments, assisting with scholarships and financial aid, supporting students during crisis situations and working with teachers, parents and administrators.
