Employment Advisor

About the role

This is a temporary position that plays a vital role in our agency’s daily operations. While not part of the state’s classified system, it may be eligible for limited benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, and participation in the state retirement plan (based on hours worked).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive support to job seekers, assessing their employment needs, strengths, skills, interests, career goals, and areas for development.
• Assist job seekers in resume writing and interview preparation.
• Guide job seekers on navigating the jobsnd.com website and filing unemployment insurance claims (if needed).
• Offer guidance on Labor Market Information and direct job seekers to training opportunities, services, and other resources.
• Support other JSND programs to ensure information is current and readily available for clients.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• At least four (4) years of related work experience
• Preferred: Outstanding customer service skills, communication and listening skills, assessment skills, attention to detail, ability to create a supportive and inclusive environment
