Employment: 2nd Shift Plant Manager

About the role

Indian Summer is seeking a qualified 2nd Shift Plant Manager to join our team in Ludington. This is a high-impact leadership position where you’ll directly influence production performance, equipment reliability, and team development while partnering with company leadership to improve efficiency, reliability, and overall plant performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large-volume food production equipment and maintenance crews.
• Ensure compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), sanitation, and food safety practices.
• Oversee safety, quality, and environmental systems and procedures.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and follow up effectively.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize work independently.
• Basic welding and electrical skills preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and perform hands-on work with tools throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

• Three to seven years of experience in large-volume food production and/or manufacturing with progressively increasing management responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of food safety regulations and requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
