Work you'll do
- Prepare self-insured financial projections and support health plan management, including financial reporting, premium rate setting, and employee contributions.
- Conduct employee benefits studies, including benchmarking and modeling alternative designs.
- Develop comprehensive benefits strategies, including plan offerings and design.
- Manage RFP processes for medical, dental, pharmacy, life, and disability programs, including development, administration, proposal evaluation, vendor selection, negotiation, and implementation.
- Review and negotiate premium rate/administrative fee renewals.
- Evaluate vendors by reviewing services, contracts, performance guarantees, and renewals.
- Analyze claims utilization data and assess health plan performance against strategy.
- Act as an extension of the HR team, assisting with ad hoc requests or issues.
- Prepare client presentations and reports.
- Serve as a project manager and mentor junior team members.
- Engage in general health & welfare consulting activities as needed.

Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- 6+ years of experience in heath or benefits consulting
- 1+ year of underwriting experience beyond basic model usage
- 1+ year of experience with U.S. healthcare system and plan design
- 1+ year of experience with healthcare financials, including rate review and negotiation
- Prior management consulting experience is preferred
- ASA with progression to FSA, FSA, or career ASA designation is preferred
Pay
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $137,700 to $229,500.
