About the role
This is a temporary 6-month position responsible for planning, delivering, and facilitating organized training programs through virtual and online learning platforms. The role also provides administrative support to the Human Resources team by maintaining accurate training and personnel records, monitoring mandatory compliance documentation, and assisting with HR-related requirements to support organizational compliance.
Responsibilities
Training & Development
- Conduct and facilitate organized training programs in accordance with CPS requirements, organizational standards, course descriptions, lesson plans, and established training schedules.
- Collaborate with the Chief People & Culture Officer to develop, coordinate, and deliver training programs that support organizational goals and compliance requirements.
- Facilitate virtual training sessions for new hires, existing employees, and interns.
- Conduct virtual new hire orientation and annual mandatory organizational training, including Child Protection and other regulatory compliance requirements.
- Conduct on-site training and instruction at designated locations, as needed.
- Advise, guide, and support trainees in achieving established course objectives and learning outcomes.
- Administer assessments and evaluate trainee performance to measure progress and determine the effectiveness of training programs.
- Participate in curriculum development and continuously evaluate training programs, including the review and revision of course descriptions, lesson plans, and training outlines.
- Assist with the development of organization-wide training programs, schedules, and initiatives based on identified organizational needs.
- Maintain current knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional methods, training technologies, and emerging developments in the field of employee learning and development.
- Maintain accurate records of trainee attendance, participation, completion, and progress.
- Prepare, maintain, and submit reports regarding completion of required training programs and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with supervisors to schedule in-person training for all new hires after initial HR orientation.
- Ensure new hires receive necessary equipment to perform the job (e.g., laptop if required).
Human Resources & Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the Human Resources team in maintaining accurate and compliant employee records and documentation.
- Support the HR team with required CPS-related HR interviews and other compliance-related processes.
- Assist with HR paperwork and maintain the electronic employee file system in accordance with organizational policies and applicable requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic files for interns.
- Process required background checks for interns and volunteers.
- Review intern files to ensure required documentation is complete and current.
- Communicate with Volunteer Coordinators and managers of interns regarding missing or incomplete documentation and follow up to ensure timely completion.
- Assist the Volunteer Coordinator with the distribution and collection of volunteer onboarding documentation.
- Review and verify the accuracy of approved automated timesheets and communicate discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Create, process, and submit employee onboarding and termination requests to the Information Technology (IT) Department.
- Monitor and respond to company email daily and maintain timely communication with employees, trainees, volunteers, interns, and management.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion when handling employee, trainee, intern, volunteer, and organizational information.
- Support organizational compliance with CPS standards, regulatory requirements, accreditation requirements, and internal policies and procedures.
- Assist with fundraising activities, organizational events, and special events, including activities that may occasionally occur outside of the employee's normal work schedule.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three to five years of training-related experience preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Flexible and self-directed with excellent time management skills.
- Strong ability to partner with staff and volunteers throughout the organization.
- Valid NJ driver's license with an insurable driving record.
Pay
Hourly rate: $31.00
Schedule
Tuesday through Friday (32 hours a week). This is a temporary 6-week position which may or may not be extended.
