Essential Functions
- Administers post-employment screening physical program.
- Refers employees to Occ Med Physician as necessary.
- Facilitates all PPD’s, employee flu vaccines, follow-up on vaccines with new employees to ensure their series is complete, etc.
- Oversees and facilitates the Drug-free workplace program.
- Oversees Worker’s Compensation injuries and provides Case Management for Clinic employees and physicians.
- Works closely with the attorney representing the clinic in litigation cases, and attends mediation, deposition, and trial, and at times provides testimony in such cases.
- Maintains current and accurate Employee Heath Records and ensures compliance with State, Federal and OSHA laws.
- Conducts annual TB risk assessment and yearly OSHA reports of work place injuries for the Department of Labor and Statistics.
- Participates in Employee Education and Orientation Programs.
- Provides ergonomic workstation evaluations and make recommendations.
- Participate in Safety and Infection Control Committee.
- Tracking of injuries and recommending preventive measures including implementation of such measures when appropriate.
- Conducts quarterly safety inspection of all clinic facilities with worker’s compensation insurance carrier and Lanier Upshaw safety representative.
- Selects, orders, and maintains Employee Health supplies and equipment with budget guidelines.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Position requires a great deal of walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies.
- Lifting up to 30 pounds may occasionally be required.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about the inside from the Care Team station to the exam rooms to interact with patients, staff, and providers.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as fax machine, copier and computer printer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with Clinic staff, such as providers, call center representatives, receptionists, Patient Financial Services, Managed Care, specialty pharmacies, etc.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- May be exposed to live vaccines, blood-borne pathogens, and bio-hazardous materials.
Schedule
8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing.
- Current RN Florida license.
- Minimum of 5 years of recent experience, two of which must be in an acute care medical/surgical and/or emergency care setting with one year experience in an ambulatory care setting.
- Strong triage and assessment skills.
- Ability to work independently with strong organization and prioritization skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing.
- One year of experience in Occupational Health or Public Health.
- Strong computer skills.
- Demonstrated background in Ergonomic Assessments and Training.
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) Designation.
