About the role
Wilshire Benefits Group is seeking a dedicated Financial Analyst to collaborate with our integrated team, manage and optimize financial processes, and help clients maximize their employee benefits packages.
Responsibilities
- Lead the entire underwriting/RFP process, including data gathering, competitive market analyses, carrier negotiations, producer advisement, and client communication.
- Execute market and financial analysis; analyze, track, and interpret client claim data; calculate and advise on employee/employer contributions.
- Provide timely, accurate, and creative insights to help clients meet budgetary requirements.
- Participate in client renewal meetings (in-person and virtually) to strategize and deliver optimal solutions.
- Stay updated on healthcare reform, trend data, carrier promotions, and claims experience; assess regulatory impacts on benefits packages.
- Track and document processes in the agency management system with accuracy and timeliness.
- Support the sales cycle, including prospecting, service, and retention; assist with special projects and colleagues as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, and/or minimum two years of industry experience.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe; experience with CRM systems or agency databases.
- Familiarity with insurance carriers, employee benefits, and underwriting procedures.
- License in Group, Health, and Life preferred but not required.
- Experience using Rate Ease and/or other carrier quoting systems preferred.
