About the Role
This is a fully remote opportunity offering significant autonomy, a collaborative culture, and a unique platform for experienced attorneys looking to expand and own their practice. The role is ideal for an attorney with 8+ years of employee benefits and executive compensation experience who enjoys sophisticated advisory work and is interested in developing long-term client relationships in an entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on a wide range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters
- Counsel public and private companies, private equity sponsors, and executives on the benefits and compensation aspects of corporate transactions
- Structure and negotiate executive employment agreements, severance arrangements, retention plans, and equity-based compensation programs
- Design and maintain qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, welfare benefit plans, and incentive compensation arrangements
- Provide strategic guidance on ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and related regulatory compliance matters
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on day-to-day employee benefits and executive compensation issues
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 8+ years of experience focused on employee benefits and executive compensation matters
- Strong experience advising employers, executives, private companies, and/or public companies
- Portable business is welcomed, but the firm is also interested in attorneys with strong business development potential
- Excellent client relationship, communication, and leadership skills
