Employee and Labor Relations Coordinator
About the Role
The HR Coordinator supports the Human Resources Employee & Labor Relations team in various capacities, including file maintenance, compliance audits, and coordination of HR processes.
Responsibilities
- Create new hire folders and maintain current employee files (personal, confidential, and I-9).
- File, audit, and verify all I-9 documents for 100% compliance.
- Process termination files appropriately.
- Maintain files for employees on FMLA or filing FMLA requests.
- Track union grievances and coordinate/maintain grievance files prior to meetings.
- Perform clerical duties associated with Boards of Review and coordinate yearly elections.
- Coordinate paperwork for unemployment claims and act as a liaison between TALX and management staff.
- Assist with HR front counter duties, file room maintenance, badging, gaming registration, and other assigned tasks.
Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of HR Department experience, preferably within a casino.
- Computer knowledge and word processing skills.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Ability to obtain/renew all government-required licenses or certifications, specifically a Nevada Gaming license.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks under time constraints.
- Must manage sensitive and confidential situations relating to team members efficiently.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be fluent in English (bilingual preferred).
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees.
- Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, and twist in the work area.
- Must respond to visual and aural cues.
- Ability to maneuver around the property to pick up and deliver paperwork.
- Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods.
- Repetitive data entry and typing throughout the work shift.
