EMMC Flex Officer, $23.00 hourly

About the role

Eastern Maine Medical Center is seeking a Healthcare Security Officer to join their team in Bangor, ME. The ideal candidate will be adaptable to multiple schedules, eager to learn, and ready to hit the ground running. Candidates must be available to work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Frequent standing and walking throughout patient care areas
• Constant mobility, regular transitions between rooms, units, and equipment
• Lifting and patient assistance, occasional lifting, repositioning, or assisting patients using proper equipment and team support
• Potential physical altercations, requires ability to respond safely using de-escalation techniques and team protocols
• Exposure to clinical conditions such as noise, varying activity levels, bodily fluids, and the need for PPE
• Multiple competing priorities, must adapt quickly to changing patient needs, urgent situations, and shifting workflows
• Use of PPE including masks, gloves, gowns, and other protective equipment required depending on patient condition
• Training and safety tools provided, includes equipment for safe lifting, de-escalation training, and compliance education

Requirements

• Strong customer service skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hospital setting
• High level of professionalism
• Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time
• Potential to multitask
• Critical thinking skills
• Flexible work availability week to week
• Valid driver's license
• At least 18 years old
• High School Education or equivalent

• Interest in healthcare, criminal justice, and customer service

Full Time Schedules available:

• 1st/2nd Shift Flex
• 2nd/3rd Shift Flex

Note- This schedule will be flexible and you will be notified within 4 days from start of work week what shifts you are expected to work. (Minimum 32 hours per week)
