Emma Leung
Economic Development has always been a particular passion of mine since studying economics at school. Prior to university, I was intrigued by the problem of homelessness in Manchester and sought to understand the process of creating a business case for temporary accommodation. This led me to study Economics and Economic Development at university and seek work experience within the sector. During this time, I worked on exciting projects such as researching the economic impact of MROs.
Since graduating, I have been working in the sector for 5 years. My day-to-day work is ever-changing and ranges from data analysis to stakeholder consultations and client engagements. At Savills, we work on a wide range of projects including business cases, economic benefit assessments, evaluations, property market assessments, policy research, and spatial plans.
In 2023, I was awarded the IED Rising Star Award, and I am grateful to continue connecting with IED members, particularly through the Early Career Network. I look forward to collaborating with like-minded individuals to advance the role of Economic Development in the UK.
