About the role
PROtect, LLC is hiring Emissions Monitoring Technicians (LDAR) to support environmental compliance at industrial facilities. This role involves more than just running routes; it includes helping facilities stay safe, compliant, and operational by identifying leaks, collecting accurate data, and working directly with plant teams.
Responsibilities
- Field Monitoring & Compliance
- Monitor valves, pumps, and components using EPA Method 21
- Complete assigned routes accurately and on schedule
- Identify, tag, and track leaks for repair and re-monitoring
- Maintain accurate documentation for compliance reporting
- Equipment & Technical Work
- Calibrate and troubleshoot handheld analyzers
- Ensure monitoring equipment is functioning properly
- Support re-monitoring of repaired components
- Site Communication
- Work with plant operations and maintenance teams
- Communicate findings clearly and professionally
- Identify opportunities to improve compliance and efficiency
- Safety & Teamwork
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Report incidents and maintain a safety-first mindset
- Support team members and assist as needed
Requirements
- 6+ months of LDAR or related industrial/environmental experience
- Basic computer skills (Excel, handheld devices, data entry)
- Strong attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred
- 2+ years of LDAR experience
- Experience with TVA 2020 (MIC-6 and manual calibration)
- Familiarity with BWON, AVO, or Subpart QQQ programs
- Experience with OGI/IR camera technology
- Refinery or chemical plant experience
- Ability to read P&IDs
