About the role
Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters. Manages the front end of the store and makes recommendations on overall operations. Supports the Store Manager with store operations to achieve company goals.
Responsibilities
- Manages store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline.
- Engages customers and resolves complaints to ensure a positive experience.
- Safeguards store assets and improves sales and profitability.
- Leads store operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and cash management.
- Supports pharmacy operations, including serving as a pharmacy technician during busy periods.
- Analyzes financial data and creates action plans to support business goals.
- Learns and trains team members, coaches, and supports their career development.
- Manages team member performance, sets goals, and provides feedback.
- Ensures store cleanliness and safety, and responds to emergencies.
- Communicates with team members and actively addresses their concerns.
- Plans and communicates the company and store strategy.
- Completes required learning and development courses and maintains a valid pharmacy technician license.
Requirements
Full-time position. Must be fluent in English and willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends and evenings. Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a preference for business majors or prior retail experience. Must be able to transfer to other Walgreens locations if promoted.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record, or Walgreens Community Internship Program completion.
- Two years of supervisory experience, or relevant business experience.
- Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training.
- Valid pharmacy technician license, if required by state.
