About the role
Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters. Manages the front end of the store and makes recommendations on overall operations. Supports the Store Manager with store operations to achieve company goals.
Responsibilities
- Manages store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline.
- Engages customers and resolves complaints to ensure a positive experience.
- Monitors and coaches customer service, develops plans for improvement, and empowers team members to resolve customer issues.
- Operates the store, assigns daily activities, delegates tasks, and manages schedules.
- Ensures store cleanliness and safety, manages repairs, and responds to emergencies.
- Trains and coaches team members on inventory management, computer systems, and technology.
- Manages cash transactions, inventory, and prepares reports.
- Supports the pharmacy during busy periods, including serving as a pharmacy technician.
- Analyzes financial and performance data, creates action plans, and engages the team to drive store improvement.
- Communicates with team members and actively responds to their questions or concerns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record, or equivalent experience.
- Two years of supervisory experience, or completion of a Walgreens Community Internship Program.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including professional ethics, self-motivation, and strong communication skills.
- Completion of the Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including extended days, evenings, and weekends.
- Fluency in English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail locations, if needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED with two years of supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completion of a Walgreens Community Internship Program.
- Valid pharmacy technician license, if required by state.
