About the role
Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters. Manages the front end of the store and makes recommendations on overall operations. Assists the Store Manager with store operations to achieve company goals.
Responsibilities
- Manages store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline.
- Engages customers and resolves complaints, ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Monitors and coaches customer service, develops plans for improvement, and empowers team members to resolve customer issues.
- Supports Store Manager with operations, collaborating with external partners, and analyzing data to make informed decisions.
- Safeguards store assets, manages cash management, inventory, and ensures compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Ensures store cleanliness and maintenance, responds to emergencies, and provides safety training.
- Trains and supports team members in using technology systems and software.
- Manages security, complies with laws and regulations, and completes special assignments.
- Analyzes financial and performance data, creates action plans, and collaborates with Store Manager to improve store performance.
- Supports Pharmacy operations during busy periods, including serving as a pharmacy technician.
- Manages people and performance, provides training, coaching, and support for team member development.
- Communicates with team members, actively responds to concerns, and assists in planning and communicating company strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record, or equivalent experience in a supervisory position.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including professional ethics, self-motivation, and strong communication skills.
- Completion of Walgreens LEAP training program or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including extended days, evenings, and weekends.
- Fluency in English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Valid pharmacy technician license, if required by state.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and two years of supervisory experience.
- Completion of Walgreens Community Internship Program.
- Management experience, including supervising others, managing, and assigning work.
- Prior retail or food industry experience preferred.
