About the role

Stellar Science is seeking Emerging Modern C++ Developers with some experience creating reusable, maintainable code to solve challenging math and physics problems. Recent or upcoming graduates with BS, MS, or PhD degrees desired, with a target start date of Summer 2026 or sooner. Responsibilities

• Create and maintain high-quality, efficient, and scalable C++ code
• Solve complex mathematical and physical problems using modern C++ techniques
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine software solutions
• Learn and apply new languages, tools, and techniques as needed to meet mission requirements
• Contribute to the development of cutting-edge scientific software tools

Requirements

• Top-notch programming skills in modern C++
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or in small teams
• Able to rapidly learn new languages, tools, and techniques
• Passion for developing quality code through listed projects, a link to an active GitHub account, or extracurricular software development activities

Qualifications

• Recent or upcoming graduates with BS, MS, or PhD degrees in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related fields
• Experience with object-oriented design and implementation
• Experience with relevant libraries such as Boost, Qt, Eigen, and Guava
• Experience with cross-platform development on Linux and Windows
• Experience with 3D graphics, supercomputing, user interface development, continuous integration, image processing, imagery analysis, computer vision, CAD, modeling and simulation, directed energy, aerospace vehicles, astrodynamics, electromagnetics, and space domain awareness

Skills

• Additional languages: Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript
• Relevant libraries: Boost, Qt, Eigen, Guava
• Cross-platform development on Linux and Windows
• 3D graphics: OpenSceneGraph, OpenGL, WebGL
