Emergency Veterinary Medical Director
About the Role
At WVRC Kenosha, we’re looking for a confident and compassionate Medical Director to guide our hospital into its next exciting chapter. This is an opportunity to lead a growing emergency-focused hospital within a well-established network, balancing clinical practice with leadership responsibilities. You’ll act as both a role model on the floor and a strategic partner behind the scenes, shaping hospital culture, inspiring a strong medical team, and driving meaningful change.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency care (~75% clinical)
- Oversee medical standards, protocols, and quality initiatives
- Lead, mentor, and support our ER doctor team
- Partner with the Hospital Director to shape operations, recruitment, and long-term planning
- Foster team collaboration and a culture of accountability, growth, and trust
- Strengthen relationships with referring veterinarians and the local community
- Collaborate with Ethos Veterinary Health to access leadership development, clinical education, and research opportunities
Requirements
- DVM or equivalent and eligibility for a Wisconsin veterinary license
- Emergency medicine experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of leadership experience
- A passion for mentorship and driving medical excellence
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Confidence in making decisions and solving complex problems
- A solutions-focused, adaptable leadership style

Pay
- Minimum base salary of $175,000, with top-of-market 25% production bonus
- $30,000–$50,000 annual leadership stipend based on prior experience
- $25,000 signing bonus
