About the role

The ER Immerse Training Program prepares veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to differ from traditional rotating internship programs, ER Immerse focuses on core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian, including clinical knowledge, client and team communication, professional skills, and work-life integration.

The program uses a hybrid training approach combining simulation-based didactics with authentic live-patient experiences. The evidence-based curriculum identifies competencies and skills critical for a successful emergency medicine career, supporting veterinarians from entry through AVMA-recognized board certification.

Responsibilities

  • Full immersion in an ER setting with mentorship from emergency doctors, nursing staff, and specialists
  • Didactic training in basic and advanced emergency topics
  • Participation in hands-on surgical training, cadaver labs, radiology rounds, and other clinical experiences
  • Development of client and team communication skills
  • Engagement in professional and personal wellbeing resources

Qualifications

  • Open to new graduates (2026) or any DVM interested in growing in emergency medicine
  • Work authorization in the United States is required
  • Candidates eligible for TN status may be considered
