Emergency Veterinarian

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tacoma, WA, is seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join our team. Located along Puget Sound with views of Mount Rainier, Tacoma offers stunning scenery, outdoor activities, and a vibrant cultural scene. About the Role

BluePearl is a leading network of specialty and emergency pet hospitals, founded in 1996. Our Tacoma location, formerly Puget Sound Veterinary Referral Center, has been the premier 24/7 emergency and specialty center in the South Puget Sound region since 1999. The hospital spans 16,000 square feet and features advanced equipment, including an on-site MRI and CT scanner, ultrasound, arthroscopy, and a fully equipped intensive care unit.

As an Emergency Veterinarian, you will have the opportunity to manage primary surgical cases, including enterotomies, splenectomies, C-sections, GDV, and pyometra. Our team includes two Neurologists and two Critical Care Specialists, providing mentorship and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency veterinary care to pets in critical conditions.
• Perform primary surgical case management, including common emergency surgeries.
• Collaborate with a team of specialists in neurology, oncology, radiology, and critical care.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools such as MRI, CT, ultrasound, and arthroscopy.
• Maintain high standards of care through continuous learning and professional development.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with strong multitasking and prioritization skills.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree.
• Valid state veterinary license.
• Commitment to emergency care and ongoing learning.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Experience with Google Apps for Work and Cornerstone Practice Management software is a plus.

Pay

• Average base + production compensation range: $160,000–$250,000.
• Sign-on bonus of up to $100,000.
• Relocation assistance.
• Production compensation with no negative accrual, paid out quarterly.
• Shift and weekend differentials may apply.
