Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on Emergency Vehicles, primarily Pierce Fire Apparatus and Road Rescue Ambulances
• Accomplish repairs and perform services outlined in established technical manuals
• Perform inspection and repair on apparatus components
• Understand and follow technical manuals, lube orders, wiring, and hydraulic schematics utilized during scheduled service intervals
• Perform major repair jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, removing and installing components, and removing and installing assemblies
• Utilize diagnostic tools (both manual and electronic) to assess and evaluate required service/repairs
• Participate in continued training and certification

Requirements

• Certification as an Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) preferred
• Current Heavy Truck ASE certifications preferred
• Ability to read, understand, and follow technical manuals for proper diagnosis and repair
• Proficiency in the use of a personal computer and basic applications
• CDL preferred
