The Emergency Services Technician position is available at Cherokee Medical Center in Gaffney, SC.

Responsibilities

• Provides emotional and physical comfort and safety to patients
• Observes, records, and reports changes in patient's condition to appropriate personnel
• Performs therapeutic procedures/treatments as defined by the medical center's policy and procedures
• Keeps the unit environment safe, restocks supplies, and checks the operation of equipment
• Collaborates with leadership in developing and implementing the medical center's culture, mission, and goals

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• E/MT, CNA, PCA, Surgical Technician, Medical Assistant, or completion of a fundamental nursing course, or one year experience in a healthcare setting
• BLS certification

Core Job Responsibilities

• Recognizes and reports changes in patient's clinical condition to appropriate nursing staff and/or MD
• Performs and documents procedures as appropriate (e.g., vital signs, EKGs performed and labeled, specimens obtained and delivered)
• Affords assistance to physicians and nurses during examinations, treatments, and minor surgical procedures
• Affords assistance to patients with turning, bathing, positioning, and ambulation
• Attends all mandatory education programs offered by the hospital and/or department annually
• Completes daily assignments, including utility room storage, trays, carts, and supplies
• Follows emergency department procedures concerning use, processing, and replacement of special equipment, trays, and supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned
