Emergency Room Technician Nights

Demonstrates competency in

• EKGs
• cardiac monitoring
• BLS protocols

Monitors

• cardiac/telemetry status
• vital functions of all patients

Performs as a Unit Liaison

• physician communication
• maintaining electronic logs
• EMS radio support
• coordinating patient transports

Adheres to

• infection control policies and protocols

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• performs basic skills completely to include but not limited to: patient transport, EKGs, telemetry monitoring, intake & output, vital signs, specimen/culture collection, phlebotomy, dressing applications, oxygen administration via simple airway management (nasal cannula or mask), personal hygiene assistance, chest tube set-up, splint applications, blood glucose monitoring, and foley catheter placement
• Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv

Work Experience

• 1+ healthcare of field experience

Licenses And Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
• OR Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT)
