Emergency Room Technician II (Nursing Assistant) PRN-12-hour shifts
About the role
The Emergency Department at Munson Medical Center is a Level II Trauma Center, Regional Referral Center, Certified Stroke Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, with a dedicated behavioral health wing. This role supports the Emergency Department in patient care tasks, patient interactions, supply stocking, transportation of patients, and assisting with procedures. The role utilizes clinical knowledge to assist with patient needs and allows for professional development in areas of clinical skills, communication, and customer service.
Daily work includes utilizing phones, answering call lights, working with peers, and patient interaction.
Responsibilities
- Support patient care tasks in the Emergency Department
- Assist with patient interactions and transportation
- Stock supplies and assist with procedures
- Utilize clinical knowledge to address patient needs
- Answer phones and call lights
- Collaborate with peers in a team environment
Requirements
- Minimum one-year emergency/urgent care experience or equivalent college education preferred
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required
- EMT licensure preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to evaluate the criticality of patient needs
- Superior customer relation skills
