Emergency Room Technician

About the Role

As an Emergency Room Tech, you will support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department by performing delegated functions from the RN or Physician. You will conduct selected diagnostics and procedures, assist with patient transport and lifting, and provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit. Your role will involve executing delegated tasks, supporting unit operations, and contributing to a safe and efficient environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the plan of care by performing common clinical procedures and tasks within scope of practice.
• Demonstrate competency in the delivery of care and clinical techniques, including but not limited to:
  • Basic Airway Management
  • CPR
  • Vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, oral and rectal temperature, respirations, and pulse oximetry)
  • Electrocardiogram

Requirements

Required education and certification upon hire:

• High School Graduate or GED, and completion of one of the following programs:
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program
  • Medical Assistant program
  • Certified Nursing Assistant Program
  • Licensed Practical Nurse program
  • Completion of one year of nursing school
• Alternatively, one of the following certifications in Washington state:
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Medical Assistant Certification
  • Registered Nursing Assistant
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification upon hire
• Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist certification in Washington state within 6 months of hire
