Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates proficiency by exhibiting leadership, collaboration, and professionalism.
  • Serves as a leader of the health care team, delegating tasks appropriately, and demonstrating accountability.
  • Understands and supports team members’ scopes of practice, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Shares responsibility and authority with subordinates and holds them accountable for performance.
  • Collaborates with other departments to assist in resolving member problems.
  • Prioritizes, delegates, and supervises work assignments to ensure completion of patient care activities.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
  • Develops and/or contributes to the individualized plan of care, ensuring multidisciplinary planning, consultation, and education.
  • Maintains patient safety by monitoring progress, revising plans based on evaluation, and ensuring optimal pain control and patient comfort.
  • Documents accurately, legibly, dated, and timed, reflecting the nursing process and interventions.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities and demonstrates comprehensive nursing decision-making.
  • Adheres to workplace safety principles and applies standard precautions.
  • Provides courteous, respectful, and compassionate care, maintaining a clean, orderly, and functional work environment.
  • Communicates effectively with patients and families, ensuring comprehension and satisfaction.
  • Supports a collaborative Labor-Management Partnership environment through participation in unit-based teams.
  • Manages work to minimize overtime and identifies systems for improvement.

Qualifications

This role requires a minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience as an RN within the past three years, or equivalent experience as an LVN with one year of experience in the clinical area of RN hire within the past three years. Applicants must be graduates of a BRN-approved RN program or have completed 917 hours of supervised RN student clinical training, or be an LVN with one year of experience as an LVN in the clinical area of RN hire within the past three years.
