About the Role

As the Manager of Emergency Services, you will ensure high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the daily function and staffing of the Emergency Department. You will monitor and evaluate nursing care, hold staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes, and support facility objectives by operationalizing evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

Help create a superior clinical identity by operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes, ensuring adherence to standards of care.
Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages served.
Manage all staffing needs and personnel management, including interviewing, hiring, and training new staff members.
Oversee care of patients on the unit, providing consistent support and expertise to staff.
Perform duties in accordance with unit-specific standards of care and evidenced by completion of a competency skills checklist.
Maintain overall workflow of the unit by ensuring proper staff levels.
Manage and coordinate all unit activities, including safety procedures, unit goals, and department operations.
Handle patient, visitor, or physician complaints promptly and professionally.
Provide leadership, coaching, and counseling to department employees.
Collaborate with other disciplines and departments to improve patient care delivery.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required.
Minimum 1 year of related leadership experience in a hospital setting required.
Prior ER experience required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
