When a family calls us on their worst day, a fall, a sudden discharge, a caregiver emergency, the Emergency Response Team is who shows up. ERT caregivers are our most trusted, most adaptable people: the ones who can walk into a home they've never seen, meet a client they've never met, and have things calm and handled within the hour. This is not an entry level caregiving role. It's the position our strongest caregivers grow into, and the backbone of our promise that families get help now, not next week.What you'll doTake short notice assignments, sometimes same day, covering urgent shifts across our service areaServe as the first caregiver into new client homes, setting the tone and reporting back detailed notes so the ongoing team starts strongCover hospital to home transitions, caregiver call outs, and bridge coverage while a permanent schedule is builtProvide the full range of non medical care: meals, personal care, transfers, medication reminders, companionshipCommunicate closely with care managers and the ERT Team Lead before, during, and after every assignmentHelp orient and mentor newer caregivers as opportunities ariseWhat makes a great ERT caregiverProven reliability, this team runs on showing up, every single timeComfort with the unfamiliar: new homes, new routines, new personalities, sometimes with only a care plan and a phone briefingCalm judgment under pressure and a low threshold for calling the office when something seems offExperience with a range of care needs, including dementia care, transfers, and personal careWarmth that puts an anxious family at ease on a hard dayRequirements. 18 or older, clean background check, valid driver's license with reliable transportation and insurance, willingness to drive throughout our service area (Chelsea, Dexter, Ann Arbor, Saline, Manchester, Grass Lake, and Jackson), broad availability with flexibility for short notice starts, and prior caregiving experience with strong performance. CNA certification preferred. Internal caregivers in good standing are ideal candidates.What we offer.
