About the role

The UNC School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Emergency Radiologist to join our faculty. This position involves providing diagnostic imaging services for emergency department patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the academic mission of the institution.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret diagnostic imaging studies (X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound) for emergency department patients.
  • Provide timely and accurate radiology reports to support clinical decision-making.
  • Collaborate with emergency medicine physicians, surgeons, and other specialists.
  • Participate in resident and medical student education through teaching and supervision.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including research and publication.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and departmental committees.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited radiology residency program.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Osteopathic Board of Radiology (AOBR).
  • Fellowship training or equivalent experience in Emergency Radiology or related subspecialty.
  • Valid North Carolina medical license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine, including teaching and research.
