Overview

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and facilitate EM training as an EM Subject Matter Instructor.
  • Develop and conduct EM drills, workshops and seminars, including preparation of associated after action reports.
  • Develop and maintain the Emergency Management (EM) plans, procedures, policies to comply with DOE Orders, Code of Federal Regulations and internal WIPP requirements.
  • Perform Management Self-Assessments on the EM program and implement corrective actions.
  • Interface with offsite response authorities and organizations.
  • Serve as a member of the WIPP Emergency Operations Center during activations.
  • Other duties as assigned by EM manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or
  • Associate’s degree with four (4) years of relevant experience, or
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency with eight (8) years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without SIMCO visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the WIPP Site (even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge).
  • Non-U.S. citizens from countries identified by the Department of Energy as posing heightened security concerns—including sensitive countries, state sponsors of terrorism, countries of risk, and other designated countries –are subject to additional security requirements that limit site access.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in a regulated environment such as DOE, NRC, or military is preferred.
  • Excellent public speaking and training delivery skills; strong written communication for procedure and report development.
  • Previous WIPP site experience is a plus
