About the role
The Registered Nurse will provide immediate acute care to patients in the Emergency Department. This includes triaging, assessing, treating, and documenting care. The ED has 29 beds with X-rays, CTs, and ultrasounds available 24 hours a day, and MRIs available most of the day. The department is also a Primary Stroke Center.
Responsibilities
- Plan and provide patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care as set forth in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual
- Demonstrate initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs
- Effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
- Report directly to a designated nurse manager or supervisor
- Practice the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice
Requirements
- BSN required
- Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure required
- BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers required
- Must obtain ACLS prior to end of orientation; may not practice independently without ACLS
- PALS preferred
Qualifications
- ED experience strongly preferred
- 2 years' telemetry experience preferred
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Evidence of basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients
- Ability to demonstrate observational skills and set priorities
- Ability to adhere to all I.C.A.R.E. standards
Schedule
- 36 hours, night shift
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
Pay
$41.36 - $100.00/hourly
