Due to growth and expansion, an emergency medicine group is adding physicians with multiple sites to choose from. Rotate between two community sites with annual volumes of 20k-65k. Main ED has 30-50 beds, and a freestanding site has 16-25 beds. Average patient per hour expected is 1.5-2 pph.
About the Role
- 9 or 10-hour shifts; some 12-hour shifts
- Independent Contractor Model
- Most physicians average 120-160 hours/month
- Weekend, holiday, and night participation expected
- Procedures expected: endotracheal intubation (direct & video laryngoscopy), cricothyroidotomy, chest tube placement, central lines, IO placement, pericardiocentesis, needle thoracotomy, vaginal deliveries, laceration repairs, I&D, FB removal, full eye exam, POCUS/FAST exam, procedural sedation
- Productivity expectations: 1.6 - 2.6 pph
- Supervision model: strong physician oversight of Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs)
EMR: Epic with PACS, Dragon & AI scribe. Coverage model is 70% physician / 30% APC. Supported by HUC (unit secretary) and Tech (splints/IV). Specialists available at hospitals include Surgical Specialists, Anesthesia, OBGYN, and some Interventional Radiology. Main site also has Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Electrophysiology, and Ophthalmology.
Pay
- Average $277 per hour with bonus potential up to $320 per hour
- Productivity RVU bonus paid quarterly
- Sign-on bonus
- Voluntary Paid Call
- Malpractice insurance with tail coverage
Requirements
- Emergency Medicine residency training only requirement
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in ABEM/AOBEM
- Ability to obtain and maintain a medical license in Florida
- ACLS, PALS (not currently required if boarded)
- Medical Doctor with or without US residency with current US work visa
