About the Role

Mercy Hospital in Springfield and Lebanon, Missouri is recruiting an emergency medicine physician to practice with autonomy while having easy transfers to a nearby Level I Trauma Center. This hospital-employed opportunity offers a mix of shifts at a high-volume, tertiary trauma center and a rural regional hospital, providing a hands-on approach, variety of patients, and procedures.

Practice Locations

• Springfield – Mercy Hospital Springfield
  • 886-bed, Level I tertiary trauma center serving four states
  • 80,000+ annual ED visits (~2 patients per hour)
  • 9-hour shifts (7 hours for patient care, 2 hours for clean-up, ensuring on-time departure)
  • 14 physician shifts daily – no single coverage
  • 80-bed emergency department
  • 11-bed pediatric emergency department plus PICU
  • Over 600 employed physicians across all specialties
  • 24/7 in-house neurology/stroke, general and orthopedic trauma, anesthesiology, intensivists, hospitalists, and OB hospitalist
  • ED ultrasound (Sonosite), MRI, and CT available 24/7
• Lebanon – Mercy Hospital Lebanon
  • 50-bed hospital, no trauma designation
  • 12-hour shifts with on-time departure
  • 19-bed ED with 25,000–30,000 annual visits
  • Three physician shifts and one APP shift daily
  • Hands-on approach with procedures, critical care, decision-making, and autonomy
  • 24/7 OB, surgery, respiratory therapy, critical care, ultrasound, and imaging coverage

EPIC EMR is used across Mercy. Partnership with local and nearby medical schools for teaching opportunities is available if desired.

Compensation and Benefits

• Minimum of $260/hour plus wRVUs (group average $297/hour)
• $150,000 recruitment bonus plus paid relocation
