Job Summary
Assist Ambulance is seeking Emergency Medical Technicians certified in New York State for full-time and part-time positions in Brooklyn or Bronx. Assist provides comprehensive emergency medical and transportation services across NYC.
Job Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- Active NY State EMT-B card (NREMT card not accepted alone)
- Drivers must be at least 20 years old with 1 year of NYC driving experience
- Valid NY State D Class driver’s license with no more than 6 points or 2 major moving violations
- Physically fit to lift 125 lbs. and pass a lifting assessment
- Passes 19A physical clearance and negative PPD test (vouchers provided)
- Passes 10 panel drug screening
- Commit to at least two 8-hour shifts per week on the same days every week (steady shifts)
- Must be good with people and able to act responsibly under extreme duress
- Criminal background check consistent with New York City Fair Chance Act
- Attend three days of in-person pre-hire assessments including driving assessments on a separate date
Job Attributes
- Weekly Payday with a .50 cent raise after 90 days for drivers, and 5% standard annual raises for all EMTs
- $1/hr bonus after 90 days when working full time hours any given pay period
