Emergency Medical Technician / EMT - AHN Medical Transport
About the role
Provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the prehospital and hospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of emergency medical care.
Responsibilities
- Drives emergency vehicle. (20%)
- Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic life support and transport to the critically ill and injured in the prehospital setting. (50%)
- Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)
- Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%)
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
Minimum: High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PA EMT license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the EMT level.
Preferred: Six months’ experience in the field of prehospital care. ITLS/PHTLS, ABLS, ASLS.
Additional Employment Requirements: EMSVO within 30 days of hire; Valid Driver's License; CPR – American Heart Association; Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate; Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate; Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
