About the role
Sanford Health’s critical care transport team includes Critical Care Paramedics, Registered Nurses, and Emergency Medical Technicians (Basic and Advanced). The team provides care and management of patients of all ages and acuity in a mobile environment for interfacility transports. Patient care is determined by patient needs, acuity, assessment, and written/protocol orders under the direction of a medical provider.

They deliver emergency patient care, are competent in trauma and medical situations in a pre-hospital setting, and possess the knowledge and skills to provide lifesaving interventions. The role includes assisting and directing additional EMS responders, administering first aid and life support, determining the nature and extent of illness or injury, establishing priority for emergency care, and providing both basic and advanced life support — including comprehensive patient assessment, airway management, 12-lead capture, and medication administration.
