As an EMT, you'll play a vital role in providing emergency and routine medical care while supporting the health and safety of patients within a secure healthcare setting at the Douglas County Correctional Center in Omaha, NE.
Responsibilities
- Conducting patient assessments, obtaining medical histories and vital signs, and documenting findings in the medical record
- Providing treatments and procedures in accordance with medical orders, EMT protocols, and scope of practice
- Performing screening, triage, and basic life support while responding to routine and emergency medical needs
- Assisting with infirmary admissions, discharges, and ongoing patient care activities
- Supporting physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff in the delivery of patient care
- Maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring patient conditions, and communicating changes to the healthcare team
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited EMT or Paramedic training program
- Current EMT or Paramedic license in state of practice
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience preferred
- Correctional healthcare experience preferred
Pay
$22-28/hr.
